HIKING EVENT GUIDELINES
Hiking event guidelines
Event guidance for a safe, considerate walk. These expectations apply whenever you join one of our hiking events.
- Check the distance, elevation, terrain and expected finish time in the event details. Choose a walk that suits your experience, fitness and health.
- Wear suitable footwear and bring water, snacks, weather-appropriate layers and a charged phone. Follow any extra preparation listed for the walk.
- Stay with the group and follow the host’s guidance. Tell the host if you feel unwell, need to leave early or want to take a different route.
- Conditions can change. The host may adjust or cancel a walk for weather, track conditions or group safety, and will share changes as soon as possible.
- Be considerate of other walkers and people using the track. Stick to paths, close gates behind you and take your rubbish with you.
- If you have a health or accessibility concern that may affect your participation, contact the host before the event so you can discuss the route and any support needed.
- Ask before taking or sharing photos. If you do not want to appear in club photos, let the host know.
Our general community guidelines apply at every event too.
