Board game event guidelines

Event guidance for a welcoming game night. These expectations apply whenever you join one of our board game events.

• Welcome new players and be patient when explaining the rules. Everyone was new to a game once.
• Choose a game that suits the group and make sure everyone at the table wants to play.
• Play fairly, keep the conversation friendly, and respect other players’ decisions and boundaries.
• Handle games and pieces with care. Keep food and drinks away from boards and cards, and tell the host if anything is damaged or missing.
• Follow the venue’s rules and be considerate of staff and other visitors. At a café, follow its ordering policy.
• Help pack games away and check that all pieces are back in the box before you leave.
• Ask before taking or sharing photos. If you do not want to appear in club photos, let the host know.
